Used as a high-temperature structural material in aerospace and industrial heating elements due to its excellent oxidation resistance and stability up to 1800°C. Commonly applied in furnace components, heating elements, and protective thermocouple sheaths in aggressive environments. Also explored as a coating material for turbine blades and in semiconductor devices for its electrical conductivity and thermal stability. Its brittleness at room temperature limits use in load-bearing parts, but composite forms improve toughness for advanced applications.
