Product Description:
Used as a selective agent in microbiological media to isolate fungi and certain bacteria, particularly in the detection of *Corynebacterium diphtheriae*. Inhibits the growth of most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, allowing target organisms to grow when combined with other nutrients. Also employed in the synthesis of tellurium-containing nanomaterials and semiconductors due to its role as a precursor. In research, it serves in studies of oxidative stress and metal toxicity in cells because it generates reactive oxygen species. Occasionally used in electroplating and as a sensitizer in photographic processes.
