Product Description:
Used as a corrosion inhibitor in cooling water systems, protecting metal surfaces such as steel, copper, and cast iron by forming a protective oxide layer. Commonly added to industrial water treatment formulations to prevent rust and pitting in closed loops and heating systems. Employed in agriculture as a micronutrient source of molybdenum for crops, especially in soils deficient in this element, supporting nitrogen fixation in legumes. Utilized in biochemical and microbiological research as a selective agent to inhibit the growth of certain bacteria and fungi. Applied in electroplating baths to produce molybdenum-containing alloy coatings with improved hardness and wear resistance. Also serves as a catalyst precursor in chemical synthesis and petroleum refining processes.
