Product Description:
Used primarily in veterinary medicine and human healthcare as an antibacterial agent, especially in the treatment of urinary tract infections and meningococcal meningitis. It is often combined with other drugs, such as trimethoprim, to enhance its effectiveness through synergistic action. In burn care, sulfadiazine is applied topically in the form of silver sulfadiazine to prevent bacterial and fungal infections in second- and third-degree burns. Its broad-spectrum activity makes it effective against a variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Due to rising resistance, its systemic use has declined, but it remains important in specific clinical and topical applications.
