Product Description:
Used as a solvent in laboratories and industry, especially for resins, waxes, and essential oils due to its ability to mix with both water and organic compounds. Commonly employed as an intermediate in the production of fuel additives, such as methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) and ethyl tert-butyl ether (ETBE), which improve gasoline combustion and reduce emissions. Also serves as a denaturant for ethanol, making it unfit for consumption. In pharmaceuticals, it acts as a reaction medium or crystallization agent. Additionally, used in paint thinners, cleaning products, and as a component in some insecticides.
