Product Description:
Used primarily as an industrial solvent and chemical intermediate in the production of other chlorinated compounds. It has been employed in the synthesis of pesticides, particularly soil fumigants, and in the manufacturing of flame retardants and synthetic rubber. Due to its effectiveness in dissolving fats and oils, it has also found use in cleaning and degreasing operations. However, because of its toxicity and environmental persistence, many applications have been phased out or restricted. It is also used in limited cases as a laboratory reagent for organic synthesis.
