16-Deoxysaikogenin F is a saikogenin derivative, featuring a saikane skeleton that serves as the core structure of saponins found in Bupleurum species (Saiko family). Used in biochemical and pharmaceutical research for its potential anti-inflammatory properties, as well as possible antiviral effects, particularly against hepatitis viruses. It exhibits hepatoprotective activity by protecting liver cells from toxin-induced damage and may reduce inflammation markers in cellular models.
