Commonly prescribed in hospitalized patients, especially those undergoing surgery or with limited mobility. Also used in managing acute coronary syndromes like unstable angina and non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). Administered subcutaneously, it offers predictable dosing with less frequent monitoring compared to unfractionated heparin. Preferred in patients with renal impairment due to its longer half-life and more consistent response.
