It is effective against a broad range of fungi, including Candida and Aspergillus species. Voriconazole is often used when other antifungal medications fail or when the infection is resistant. Commonly administered intravenously or orally in hospital and outpatient settings, especially in immunocompromised patients like those with cancer, organ transplants, or HIV. Also used as a preventive treatment in high-risk patients undergoing stem cell or organ transplants.
