description Product Description
Fexofenadine is a second-generation, non-sedating antihistamine that selectively blocks H1 histamine receptors. It is primarily used to alleviate symptoms of allergic conditions, including seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, and itching of the throat or nose. It is also effective in managing chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives), reducing itching and skin rashes.
Chemically known as (±)-4-[1-hydroxy-4-[4-(hydroxydiphenylmethyl)-1-piperidinyl]-butyl]-α,α-dimethylbenzeneacetic acid, fexofenadine is a metabolite of terfenadine with improved safety profile and minimal side effects. This high-purity product (≥98% by HPLC) is supplied as a white to off-white solid, suitable for use as a reference standard in pharmaceutical research, analytical testing, method development, and synthesis of allergy medications.
