Product Description:
CTAB solution is widely used in molecular biology for DNA and RNA extraction, particularly from plant tissues, due to its ability to break down cell membranes and denature proteins. It is effective in isolating nucleic acids from samples with high levels of polysaccharides and polyphenols, which can interfere with downstream applications. In addition to nucleic acid purification, CTAB is employed as a surfactant in the synthesis of nanoparticles, where it helps control particle size and shape by stabilizing the surface. It is also used in biochemical assays for lysing cells and solubilizing membrane proteins. In some diagnostic procedures, CTAB is utilized for microbial cell disruption to release intracellular components for detection.
