Used to treat invasive fungal infections, particularly in patients with weakened immune systems such as those undergoing chemotherapy or stem cell transplants. Effective against Candida and Aspergillus species. Administered intravenously when oral antifungals are not suitable. Often used in hospital settings for prophylaxis in high-risk patients.
