Silver To Ivory Magic Beads (800 micron) are encapsulated color-change pigment beads for cosmetic formulas. The bead surface gives a silver look in the formula, while the inner ivory color is released when the beads are rubbed on skin, creating an instant silver-to-ivory color-change effect.
The effect is a temporary color/coating effect on the skin or makeup finish. It is not a biological skin-active effect; the visible result is removed when the product is washed off.
Product Description
- Color change: silver to ivory
- Particle size: 800 micron
- Formula appearance: gives the bulk formula a silver / silver-tone color before application.
- Skin effect: beads break during spreading, the silver appearance fades, and the released ivory color creates the intended instant color finish.
- Best fit: gel, cream, lotion, serum or other formulas with enough viscosity to suspend the beads evenly.
Usage
- Usage rate: 0.1-3%, depending on desired color intensity.
- Formula pH: keep between 5.5 and 6.5. Above pH 6.5 the beads may break too easily in the formula; below pH 5.5 they may be harder to break during spreading.
- Water content: keep water content not more than 80%.
- Add Magic Beads in the final step. Do not add directly into the water phase.
- Mix at low speed and avoid heat above 80°C. High heat or high-shear mixing can break the beads during production.
- If the formula is too fluid, the beads may settle. Use a suitable thickener or suspension system.
Mixing method
Add at the final cool-down/finishing step under gentle mixing. Confirm bead integrity after manufacturing, filling and storage.
