Vitamin C Liposomal Base Cream (9% Ascorbic Acid, Stabilized)
This is a ready-to-use oil-in-water base cream providing approximately 9% L-ascorbic acid in an emulsion system supported by phospholipids in a liposome formulation. This ensures greater formulation stability compared to typical water-based vitamin C solutions. Stability testing at 40°C for one month confirmed that over 80% of the vitamin C remained intact and no yellow discoloration occurred.
Vitamin C Liposomal Base Cream (9% Ascorbic Acid, Stabilized 40C) is a ready-to-use oil-in-water base cream that provides approximately 9% L-ascorbic acid in a phospholipid-supported emulsion system in a liposomal formulation for greater formulation stability than typical water-based vitamin C formulas.
This product has undergone stability testing at 40°C for one month, confirming that over 80% of the Vitamin C remains and no yellowing occurs. This compares to conventional 9% liquid ascorbic acid preparations, which degrade to no more than 10% effectiveness under the same conditions and timeframe.
For technically sound use, L-ascorbic acid requires maintaining an acidic environment while minimizing exposure to oxygen, light, metal contaminants, and excessive heat. In topical cosmetics, it's suitable for applications aimed at brightening, evening out skin tone, and enhancing protection against oxidative stress. However, actual results depend on the carrier system, pH, packaging, and storage practices.
This base is suitable for developing minimally customized formulations, usable directly as a base cream, or with the addition of only low levels of compatible post-production additives. The working temperature should be kept below 40 °C , and pH-raising ingredients should be avoided.
Product Description: This O/W liposomal-based cream combines free L-ascorbic acid with a phospholipid-supported emulsion structure to overcome the limitations of purely aqueous vitamin C formulations. The cream has a softer texture than clear serums but still operates within a technically sound acidity range for the placement of free-acid vitamin C. The formulation's stability is achieved through chelators, antioxidants, controlled manufacturing processes, and minimized air exposure. It should be viewed as a more robust system, not a heat-resistant vitamin C cream or one that performs well at neutral pH. Suitable for brightening care, addressing dull/uneven skin tone, and leave-on creams requiring antioxidant support under controlled packaging and manufacturing conditions.
Uses: Use as a facial moisturizer, night cream, uneven skin tone cream, neck and décolletage product, or as a leave-on moisturizer providing antioxidant support, by adjusting the formula with a small amount.
Mixing method:
- Can be used directly in high proportions, or as the main cream base in ready-made formulations. Minimize the addition of adjusters to maintain pH, viscosity, and vitamin C levels.
- If additives are needed, add only compatible ones during the cool-down period below 40 °C and avoid reheating, prolonged vigorous stirring, and repeated exposure to air.
- Do not use with alkaline adjusters, highly electrolytes, powders at risk of metal contamination, or reactive extracts unless pH, color, viscosity, and stability are retested.
Usage rate: 95-100% when used as the main ingredient in a finished cream formula (providing approximately 8.55-9.00% L-ascorbic acid). If diluted in other emulsions, pH, discoloration, and stability should be rechecked, as the efficacy and stability of vitamin C decrease with direct dilution.
Product characteristics: Off-white to light ivory cream, smooth emulsion texture, with a mild, distinctive scent.
Solubility: This is an oil-in-water type cream base that has been pre-emulsified. It can be dispersed into compatible O/W cream systems, but is not suitable for waterless or purely oil-based formulations.
Storage: Keep container tightly closed. Use opaque packaging with low headspace. Store away from light, air, and heat. Primarily operate in cool conditions. The 40 °C resistance refers to improved system strength, not a recommendation for prolonged continuous hot storage.
