Prunus Mume Fruit Water™ is a preserved water-phase botanical ingredient based on Japanese apricot (Prunus mume) fruit water. INCI: PRUNUS MUME FRUIT WATER, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Glycerin. It is designed for toner, essence, serum, gel, cream, mist and mask formulas that need a gentle fruit-water story with anti-dullness, antioxidant, hydration and brightening-support formulas.
The ingredient is especially useful in anti-glycation and skin-clarity concepts. Glycation and Maillard-type reactions can make skin tone look yellow, dull and tired; Prunus mume brings a botanical route for formulas targeting this dullness pathway while also supporting antioxidant and water-phase sensory value.
For stronger whitening or even-tone formulas, use Prunus Mume Fruit Water™ as the botanical water-phase base and combine it with primary brightening actives such as niacinamide, N-acetyl glucosamine, alpha-arbutin, tranexamic acid, glutathione, vitamin C derivatives or soothing anti-redness ingredients. This gives the formula both a recognizable botanical use and a more complete brightening system.

Usage: Suitable for toner, essence, serum, gel, cream, lotion, mask, mist and other water-based skincare formulas focused on anti-glycation, dullness reduction, skin-tone clarity, antioxidant support, light hydration and botanical brightening support.
Mixing method:
- Add to the water phase or during cool-down. To preserve the botanical character, add below 45°C when possible.
- Suitable pH window: pH 3-8. For whitening, anti-glycation and antioxidant formulas, pH 4-7 is usually the most practical range.
- This is a water-based botanical ingredient; the finished formula must include an appropriate preservative system and should pass microbial challenge testing.
Usage rate: 1-20% of the total formula. Typical use: 3-10% in toner, essence, serum or cream; higher levels can replace part of the water phase when preservation and compatibility are validated.
Product characteristics: Light yellow to very pale peach liquid; mild botanical-fruity odor.
Solubility: Miscible in water and water/glycol systems.
Storage: Store tightly closed in a cool area, away from heat and direct light. Avoid repeated contamination after opening.
