Lightweight, fast‑absorbing emollient ester for slip/spread and a non‑greasy finish; use 0.5–5% in skincare, suncare, haircare.
Lauryl Lactate is a lightweight, fast‑absorbing emollient ester that improves slip, reduces tack, and leaves a modern non‑greasy finish.
It blends readily with esters and natural oils, shows broad compatibility with many silicones, and works alongside common sunscreen actives to aid even, continuous film formation.
Engineering notes: oil‑miscible (not water‑soluble). Add in the oil phase or post‑emulsification; keep processing below 70 °C. Stable across typical emulsion pH; avoid prolonged exposure to very high pH which can hydrolyze esters.
Product Description: Versatile emollient ester. Enhances spreadability, lubricity and payoff; reduces waxy or sticky perception in high‑actives and SPF systems; compatible with O/W, W/O and anhydrous formats including hot‑ and cold‑process.
Usage: - Silky face lotions/serums with a non‑tacky finish - Sunscreens and daily SPF for smoother glide and more uniform film - CC/BB creams, primers, and sticks for improved payoff and soft‑focus feel - Conditioners & masks when slip is desired without weight or buildup - Cleansing balms & oils to cut greasy after‑feel
Mixing method: - Add in the oil phase or at post‑emulsification. - Keep processing temperature below 70 °C; extended high pH should be avoided to minimize ester hydrolysis. - Pre‑blend with esters/silicones when helpful; supports cold‑process and hot‑process. - Compatible with typical UV filters; aids even film and spread in SPF bases.
Usage rate: 0.5–5
Product characteristics: Clear to pale‑straw liquid; low odor; fast‑absorbing.
Solubility: Oil‑miscible; not water‑soluble. Miscible with esters and many silicones.
Storage: Keep tightly closed, cool, and dry; protect from excessive heat and moisture.
