Used as a highly efficient phosphorescent emitter in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), particularly in blue and sky-blue devices. Its fluorinated ligand structure enhances electron transport and improves device stability. Commonly employed in the emissive layer of vacuum-deposited OLEDs for displays and lighting, where it enables high external quantum efficiency and color purity. Also investigated in tandem OLED architectures to boost luminance and operational lifetime.
