Used in the treatment of unresectable or metastatic melanoma with BRAF V600E or V600K mutations, often in combination with dabrafenib. Also applied in treating metastatic non-small cell lung cancer with BRAF V600E mutation. Shows efficacy in treating certain types of solid tumors and low-grade serous ovarian cancer with specific RAS/RAF/MEK pathway mutations. Works by inhibiting MEK1 and MEK2 kinases, blocking abnormal cell signaling that leads to uncontrolled cell growth.
