Used in the treatment of certain B-cell malignancies, including mantle cell lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. It functions as a selective inhibitor of Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK), a key enzyme in B-cell receptor signaling. By blocking BTK, it interferes with the survival, proliferation, and migration of malignant B-cells. Administered orally, it offers a targeted therapy option with potentially fewer off-target effects compared to earlier BTK inhibitors. Currently approved for use in several countries, it is part of ongoing research for additional hematologic cancer indications.
