Product Description:
Used as a catalyst in the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. Commonly employed in dry-cell batteries, such as zinc-carbon and alkaline batteries, to prevent the buildup of hydrogen gas by facilitating the reduction reaction. Acts as an oxidizing agent in the synthesis of organic compounds and in the production of chlorine from hydrochloric acid. Utilized in the glass and ceramic industries to remove green tint caused by iron impurities or to produce black, brown, or purple hues. Also applied in water treatment processes to remove iron and hydrogen sulfide from well water through filtration systems.
