Repoly 315 is a ready‑to‑use liquid polymer thickener/gel builder for creams and gel‑creams. It hydrates and swells rapidly in‑formula without requiring pH adjustment or heating.
It is compatible with all oil types (polar and non‑polar), disperses pigments (organic and inorganic) and works well in physical sunscreen systems. It enables soft, smooth, creamy textures with excellent spread and pleasant sensory.
Product Description: Key characteristics
- Effective thickener at low use levels; no heat required
- Add directly during emulsification; compatible with high‑silicone formulas
- Stabilizes organic/inorganic pigments; suitable for physical sunscreens
- May increase viscosity even in formulas containing up to ~40% alcohol
- High‑shear mixing for extended time does not reduce viscosity
Usage: Creams, lotions, gel‑creams, pigment dispersions, physical sunscreens, silicone‑rich systems
Mixing method:
- Cold process: Pre‑mix Repoly 315 with the oil phase, then combine with the water phase and mix until uniform.
- Hot process: Heat water and oil phases to 75–80°C, emulsify; when the emulsion cools to about 60°C, add Repoly 315 and mix for ~15–20 minutes.
Usage rate: 2–5% when used alone as the primary thickener; 0.2–2% when used together with another emulsifier
