Widely used as a flame retardant in engineering plastics such as polyamides (nylon 6, nylon 66) and polyesters due to its high thermal stability and good compatibility with polymers. Also used in combination with synergists like melamine cyanurate to enhance flame retardancy and meet UL94 V-0 ratings. Offers good mechanical property retention after compounding and low corrosion potential, making it suitable for sensitive electronic applications.
