LipX®-Elastyl (Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12 Powder)
LipX®-Elastyl (Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12 Powder) is a concentrated cosmetic peptide powder based on Palmitoyl-Val-Gly-Val-Ala-Pro-Gly (VGVAPG), supplied in a Dextrose Anhydrous carrier for oil-based lip and anti-aging formulas.
Physical form: This product is supplied as a freeze-dried powder.
Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12 is a matrikine-style peptide associated with elastin-fragment signaling. In cosmetic formulas, it is used to support smoother-looking, firmer-feeling skin and fuller-looking lip concepts by helping formulators build products around fibroblast communication, extracellular-matrix comfort, and visible skin/lip texture improvement.
This powder is especially useful in anhydrous or oil-rich products such as lip balm, lipstick, body balm, butter, and oil essence where the customer wants a peptide story without using a water-based peptide solution.
Product Description: LipX®-Elastyl is designed for lip-care and oil-based anti-aging formulas that need a skin-conditioning peptide with a firming, smoothing, and plumping-positioned story. The VGVAPG sequence is commonly discussed as an elastin-derived signal fragment, making it relevant for formulas focused on skin elasticity, perioral fine-line care, lip smoothness, and fuller-looking lip appearance.
For lip products, it can be positioned in formulas that aim to improve the look of lip volume, softness, smoothness, fine lines around the mouth, and lip firmness. For skin products, it is suitable for oil-based anti-aging balms and treatments where a peptide powder is preferred over an aqueous peptide solution.
Usage: Lip balm, lipstick, lip treatment, body balm, butter, oil essence, anhydrous anti-aging products, and oil-rich skin-care formulas.
Mixing method:
- Add in the final step of the oil phase or anhydrous base and mix until evenly dispersed.
- Avoid heating above 40°C after addition. If heat exposure is unavoidable, limit to a maximum of 60°C for 5 minutes.
- For best uniformity, pre-disperse into a small portion of the oil/balm base before adding to the main batch.
Usage rate: 0.25-1.0%
Typical recommended level: 0.5%. Using above the recommended range is not expected to give proportionally higher benefit.
Product characteristics: White free-flowing powder.
Solubility: Designed for dispersion into lip balm, lipstick base, balm, butter, and oil-based products. Not intended as a simple water-phase peptide solution.
Storage: For long-term storage, keep refrigerated at 4-8°C. Shelf life at least 24 months from manufacturing date when stored properly.
