Used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure. It helps relax blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily, which lowers the risk of stroke, heart attack, and kidney problems. Often prescribed when other blood pressure medications are not effective enough. Can be used long-term to improve heart function and reduce symptoms like shortness of breath and fatigue. Sometimes given after a heart attack to improve survival and protect the heart. Taken orally, usually once a day, with or without food.
