Trimethyl Pentaphenyl Trisiloxane (e.q. PH 1555 HRI)

High‑refractive‑index phenyl silicone fluid for strong gloss and rich, non‑oily feel in color cosmetics, skin‑/hair‑care and AP/deo formulations.

Trimethyl Pentaphenyl Trisiloxane (e.q. PH 1555 HRI) is a phenyl‑functional silicone fluid engineered to deliver very high gloss and a rich, non‑oily feel in color cosmetics, skin care, hair care and antiperspirant/deodorant formulations.

Its aromatic substitution gives an ultra‑high refractive index (nD 1.5750–1.5900) and higher density than linear dimethicone, so thin films dramatically intensify color, shine and clarity while remaining clear and flexible on skin and hair.

The fluid is oxidation‑resistant, low yellowing and easily emulsified into emulsions or anhydrous systems. It shows broad compatibility with silicone oils, many esters, hydrocarbons and waxes, allowing it to function as a versatile gloss and sensory modifier across multiple product forms.

Product Description: High‑refractive‑index phenyl silicone fluid supplied as a pure liquid (viscosity 165–185 mm²/s at 25°C; relative density 1.090–1.100). Forms smooth, continuous films that enhance surface slip, spreadability and payoff while reducing tackiness compared with heavy oils. Suitable for long‑wear make‑up, shine serums and antiperspirant sticks where durable gloss and substantivity are required.

Usage: Ideal for color cosmetics (lip gloss, lipstick, liquid lip, foundations, pressed/loose powders, eyeliners, mascaras), skin care (serums, primers, high‑shine illuminators), hair care (shine sprays, serums, finishing creams) and AP/deo sticks or roll‑ons as a gloss and sensorial modifier.

Mixing method:

- Use as part of the oil/silicone phase in emulsions or as a component of anhydrous systems (sticks, balms, poured cakes).

- For emulsions, premix with other silicones, esters or hydrocarbon oils; emulsify with appropriate silicone or oil-in-water emulsifiers. Typical processing up to 70°C.

- For silicone‑rich or volatile bases, balance with volatile silicones or isododecane to tune payoff and drying time. Avoid very high levels in ultra-light textures where heavy gloss is not desired.

- Insoluble in water; do not add directly to the water phase. For water‑based systems, pre‑emulsify into a silicone or oil phase before addition.

Usage rate: 1–20% in finished formulations depending on desired gloss, film thickness and sensorial profile; lower levels (~1–5%) for subtle shine and slip, higher levels (~10–20%) for intense gloss (for example lip and hair finishes).

Product characteristics: Pure white to yellow liquid; phenyl‑functional silicone; medium viscosity (165–185 mm²/s at 25°C); high density (relative density 1.090–1.100); very high refractive index (nD 1.5750–1.5900); low odor.

Solubility: Insoluble in water; miscible with most silicone fluids and many cosmetic esters and hydrocarbon oils; use emulsifiers to disperse into water‑containing systems.

Preservative‑free silicone fluid.
