Hydrogenated Polydecene (Light, 4cSt, e.q. 2004FG)
High‑purity synthetic emollient oil with silky, non‑greasy feel; stable and silicone‑alternative sensorials.
Hydrogenated Polydecene (Light, 4cSt, e.q. DEKANEX 2004FG) is a high‑purity synthetic emollient oil produced by oligomerisation of 1‑decene.
It delivers a silky, non‑greasy skin feel that improves spreadability and softness, and can function as a sensory alternative to non‑volatile silicones.
Very low odor and exceptionally high purity make it suitable for sensitive skin care and demanding applications.
Product Description: Inert hydrocarbon emollient with excellent oxidative and thermal stability; stable across a wide pH range when used in emulsions. Compatible with common emollients, silicones, and oil‑phase materials.
Usage: Emollient and skin‑feel enhancer for creams/lotions, sun care, lip care, baby care, and sensitive‑skin concepts; silicone‑alternative sensorials.
Mixing method:
- Add to the oil phase of emulsions; heat per emulsifier requirements or process cold as appropriate.
- For anhydrous systems, blend directly; adjust viscosity and sensorials with compatible esters/silicones/waxes.
- Check compatibility with actives and UV filters; typically robust to processing and pH in finished emulsions.
Usage rate: 1–100%
Product characteristics: Clear, colorless, low‑viscosity oil; odorless to faint characteristic odor. Typical properties: 4.1 mm²/s (100°C); 18 mm²/s (40°C); pour point ≤ −60°C; flash point ≥ 200°C; density 810–830 kg/m³ (15°C).
Solubility: Immiscible with water; miscible with common cosmetic oils, esters, and silicones.
Storage: Store in original, unopened containers at 10–25°C in a dark, dry area. Shelf life 24 months when properly stored.
