Product Description:
Copper(I) iodide is widely used as a catalyst in organic synthesis, particularly in coupling reactions such as the Ullmann reaction and other copper-mediated carbon-heteroatom bond formations. It plays a key role in the formation of C–N, C–O, and C–S bonds, making it valuable in pharmaceutical and agrochemical manufacturing.
It is also employed in the formulation of conductive inks and materials for printed electronics due to its semiconducting properties. In photovoltaic cells, copper(I) iodide acts as a hole-transport layer or transparent conducting material, contributing to improved efficiency in solar energy devices.
In addition, it is used as a source of iodine in animal feed supplements and in some antimicrobial coatings. Its low solubility and stability make it suitable for long-term applications in materials and industrial processes.
