Product Description:
Widely used as a reducing agent in chemical synthesis, particularly in the production of other tin compounds and in electroless plating processes. It serves as a catalyst in the manufacturing of polylactic acid (PLA), a biodegradable polymer used in plastics and textiles. Commonly applied in the textile industry as a mordant in dyeing, improving color fastness and intensity. Used in the glass industry to produce conductive, reflective, or anti-static coatings on glass surfaces through chemical vapor deposition. Employed in analytical chemistry for qualitative detection of gold, iron, and mercury due to its ability to reduce metal ions to their metallic forms. Also found in some oral care products, such as toothpastes for sensitive teeth, where it helps block dentinal tubules and reduce sensitivity.
