Used in semiconductor manufacturing as a conductive material in thin-film applications. Shows promise in lithium-ion battery anodes due to its ability to store lithium ions, improving battery capacity and cycling stability. Investigated for use in microelectronics and nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) because of its thermal stability and low electrical resistivity. Also explored in catalytic applications for silicon-based chemical reactions.
