Water‑dispersible silicone polyether emollient/solubilizer; boosts mildness and slip in cleansers and conditioners. Typical use 0.5–5%.
Dimethicone PEG-7 Cocoate is a water‑dispersible silicone polyether emollient that also acts as a solubilizer/co‑emulsifier and mild surfactant. It improves slip and detangling in hair and leaves a silky, rinsable feel on skin without heavy build‑up.
It helps dissolve perfumes/silicones into aqueous systems, boosts cleansing mildness and foam creaminess, and aids wetting/dispersion of pigments in makeup removers and wipes.
Nonionic and broadly compatible with anionic/amphoteric/cationic systems across pH ~4.5–8. Can be cold‑processed; if heating, keep ≤70–75°C.
Product Description: Water‑dispersible silicone polyether derived from dimethicone and PEG‑7 cocoate. Functions as solubilizer/co‑emulsifier, cleansing mildness booster, and conditioning emollient for hair and skin. Enhances slip, spread, detangling, and wet combing while rinsing clean.
Usage: Rinse‑off cleansers, micellar waters, shampoos/shower gels; leave‑on light lotions and sprayable conditioners; makeup removers and wipes.
Mixing method: Add directly to the water phase or surfactant blend; can be cold‑added. For fragrance solubilization, premix with fragrance then add to water under gentle stirring; optionally improve clarity with 1–3% propanediol. In cationic conditioners, add during cool‑down to minimize viscosity loss.
Usage rate: 0.5–5% typical; 1–3% common in cleansers. For fragrance solubilization use ~2:1–4:1 total solubilizer:oil with co‑solvents as needed.
Product characteristics: Amber viscous fluid; refractive index (25°C) ~1.4280±0.0050; Brookfield viscosity (25°C) ~6,000–11,000 cP; specific gravity (25°C) ~1.010±0.02.
Solubility: Water‑dispersible to water‑soluble; readily mixes with alcohols and glycols; soluble in surfactant systems; compatible with anionic, amphoteric, and cationic actives.
