Used in the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) with Philadelphia chromosome positivity. It functions as a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, targeting BCR-ABL fusion protein and other kinases involved in cancer cell proliferation and survival. Helps control disease progression by blocking signaling pathways that drive uncontrolled cell growth. Administered orally, it is effective in patients resistant or intolerant to prior therapies, including imatinib. Also under investigation for potential use in solid tumors and other hematologic malignancies.
