Used topically to treat androgenetic alopecia (pattern hair loss) in both men and women. It promotes hair growth by prolonging the anagen (growth) phase of hair follicles and increasing blood flow to the scalp. Commonly formulated in solutions and foams at varying concentrations, it is applied directly to the scalp once or twice daily. Results typically become visible after several months of consistent use. May also be used off-label for other types of hair thinning conditions.
