Used to treat overactive bladder (OAB) symptoms such as frequent urination, urgent need to urinate, and incontinence. It works by relaxing the bladder muscle, allowing the bladder to store more urine and reducing involuntary contractions. Commonly prescribed when anticholinergic medications are not well tolerated. Also studied for use in pediatric patients with neurogenic bladder and other lower urinary tract dysfunctions. Not a hormone or anticholinergic; acts selectively on beta-3 adrenergic receptors in the bladder.
