(R)-Lansoprazole, also known as dexlansoprazole, is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to treat heartburn associated with symptomatic non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and to heal and maintain healing of all grades of erosive esophagitis (EE). It works by reducing stomach acid production, providing relief from acid-related symptoms. It is typically taken once daily and can be administered with or without food.
