Used primarily in anti-dandruff shampoos to treat scalp conditions such as dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis. It works by reducing the growth of fungi on the scalp and slowing down the shedding of skin cells, which helps decrease flaking, itching, and irritation. Also effective in treating tinea versicolor, a fungal skin infection that causes discolored patches. Applied topically, it is left on the affected area for a short period before rinsing off.
