Used as a catalyst in oxidation reactions, particularly in the selective oxidation of hydrocarbons. It mimics cytochrome P450 enzymes, making it effective in converting alkanes to alcohols and alkenes to epoxides under mild conditions. Also applied in environmental chemistry for the degradation of organic pollutants and in synthetic organic chemistry for C–H bond activation. Its porphyrin structure provides high thermal and chemical stability, enhancing catalytic efficiency and reusability in homogeneous systems.
