WaterMix™ Red No.40 Lake is a ready-to-use, water-dispersible liquid color dispersion based on Red No.40 Lake (CI 16035) for cosmetic and personal-care formulation.

This grade is designed for broad pH compatibility and has been stability-tested from pH 2-12. Within this tested window it is highly stable in low- and high-pH systems; confirm shade and dispersion in the finished base when formulating outside this range.

The WaterMix format is designed for easier incorporation of lake color into aqueous systems, gels, surfactant bases, emulsions, and color cosmetics without dry-powder pre-wetting by the customer.

Product Description: WaterMix™ Red No.40 Lake is a concentrated red liquid dispersion for shade adjustment and red-tone color development in formulas that can accept a water-dispersible color system. The product is intended as a cosmetic colorant dispersion, not as a dye solution; shade intensity depends on the formula base, opacity, pigment load, surfactant level, and final pH.

Usage: Suitable for makeup color adjustment, lip products where the colorant is permitted for the target market, mascara, eyeliner, water-based gels, creams, lotions, surfactant cleansers, and soap-type systems that need a red lake color in a water-dispersible liquid format.

Mixing method:

- Shake or homogenize the product before weighing so the color dispersion is uniform.

- Add into the water phase, surfactant phase, or finished emulsion/gel while mixing. Use moderate shear until the color is fully uniform.

- For transparent or low-viscosity bases, premix with a small amount of water/glycerin or part of the formula base before addition to prevent local high-color spots.

- For pH above 13, confirm the final shade after the full batch has equilibrated because the tone may appear slightly darker red.

Usage rate: 0.1-50%

Product characteristics: Deep red liquid dispersion; characteristic mild odor; water-dispersible.

Solubility: Dispersible in water and water-rich cosmetic systems. Not an oil-soluble color; use appropriate emulsification or dispersion when adding to anhydrous or high-oil bases.

Storage: Store tightly closed at room temperature (25-40°C). Protect from contamination and mix well before use.
