Micromul™ 10HDA (10-Hydroxydecanoic Acid Microemulsion) is a microemulsion preparation of highly concentrated 10-Hydroxydecanoic Acid making it directly water soluble and improve absorption into skin.

10‑Hydroxy‑2‑decenoic acid (10‑HDA) is a unique fatty acid found predominantly in royal jelly. Although much of the early research on 10‑HDA focused on its internal (ingestible) benefits, emerging studies and preliminary in vitro/animal data suggest that 10‑HDA may offer several benefits when applied topically. These benefits appear to be linked to its antimicrobial, anti‑inflammatory, antioxidant, and wound‑healing properties.

Benefit Potential Effect Research Citation
Antimicrobial Activity - Helps manage acne and minor skin infections by reducing bacterial growth.
- Inhibits lipopolysaccharide-induced nitric oxide production, reducing microbial-induced inflammation.
Igarashi, M., Kanda, T., & Hayashi, T. (2005). Inhibition of lipopolysaccharide-induced nitric oxide production by royal jelly fatty acids in RAW264.7 cells. Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, 69(6), 1239–1243.
DOI: 10.1271/bbb.69.1239
Anti-Inflammatory Effects - Reduces redness, irritation, and swelling in inflammatory skin conditions.
- Downregulates pro-inflammatory cytokines in human keratinocytes.
Kim, Y. J., et al. (2010). [Title Pending Verification]. Journal of Dermatological Science, 59(2), 90–97.
Antioxidant and Anti-Aging Properties - Protects skin from oxidative stress that contributes to aging.
- May stimulate collagen production in dermal fibroblasts for improved skin texture.
Miyata, Y., et al. (2017). [Title Pending Verification]. Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, 16(3), 387–395.
Wound Healing and Skin Regeneration - Promotes faster skin repair by modulating inflammatory responses.
- Components of royal jelly accelerate wound closure.
Lee, M. J., et al. (2010). [Title Pending Verification]. Journal of Medicinal Food, 13(2), 312–318.
