O2-Complex™ (Pure Perfluorodecalin) is a chemically inert perfluorocarbon liquid used in cosmetics to condition the skin and act as an oxygen carrier.
It is highly soluble in gases (especially oxygen and carbon dioxide), but is incompatible with water and common oils, so it must be emulsified or encapsulated before being mixed into the formula.
Suitable for 'Oxygen Net' skincare concept and post-procedure care. Effectiveness depends on the amount of oxygen contained, droplet size, packaging barriers and packaging conditions.

Measure the oxygen concentration that the O2-Complex can hold using an Oxygen Meter (Gas Analyzer).
Uses: Serums, creams or lotions, masks, and post-procedure soothing products; concept: to provide/deliver oxygen to the skin.
Mixing methods: - As a finely dispersed phase in emulsions (PFD nanoemulsions) or capsule systems; directly water/oil miscible - Oxygenation (optional): Cool to 5–10°C and spurt medical-grade fine-foaming O₂ for 15–30 min/L - Control temperature ≤40°C; avoid high shear forces that cause oxygen escape and avoid vacuum aspiration after oxygen filling - Fill under O₂ or evacuate voids; minimize air gaps, use high-gas barrier packaging (foil/laminate/outlet) to maintain O₂ - Monitor with an optical oxygen probe for non-water based liquids.
Usage rate: 0.5–5%
Product characteristics: Clear, colorless, high density, inert liquid (perfluorocarbon).
Solubility: Incompatible with water and common oils/silicone; requires an emulsifier to help disperse in water or silicone formulations.
Storage: Store in a cool place (15–25°C), tightly closed. If oxygenation is to be performed, minimize air gaps and use gas-tight packaging.
