Zinc Ricinoleate ZR-LD (25% Surfactant Base, e.q. Flexicare)
Zinc Ricinoleate ZR-LD is a water-dispersible deodorant active containing 25% zinc ricinoleate, formulated as a liquid for ease of use.
It traps and absorbs odor-causing molecules rather than masking them. Non-antimicrobial for skin-flora compatibility, and compatible with fragrances and most anionic, nonionic, and amphoteric personal care systems.
Dispersible in water and soluble in most polar organic solvents and aqueous surfactant solutions. Clear to slightly hazy, light amber liquid; as-is pH 9–10; density ≈1.10; dilutes 1:20 in water to a clear solution.
Usage: Deodorants (sticks, sprays, roll-ons), personal cleansers and shampoos; effective odor control in pet/veterinary cleansers.
How to mix:
- Add to water or the surfactant phase under stirring; cold-processable.
- For surfactant systems, add after base preparation; compatible with most fragrances.
- Pre-disperse into the aqueous/glycol phase before thickening for best clarity.
Usage rate: 1–3% typical in deodorants (broader 1–10% depending on application).
