Dandruff-Guard™ WS is a specially processed Piroctone Olamine that can be directly dispersed in water, giving it high efficiency, without sedimentation or precipitation.

Piroctone Olamine is an anti-dandruff agent that destroys the fungus Pityrosporum Ovale, which is the cause of dandruff on the scalp. Dandruff-Guard™ can treat dandruff, prevent new dandruff from forming and can help stop itchy scalp.

Dandruff-Guard™ WS can also be used in skin care products to reduce or prevent airborne inflammation and allergic reactions.

The results of the study found that after using a shampoo containing Dandruff-Guard™ WS at a concentration of 2.5% for 6 weeks, it reduced dandruff by 81.7% compared to a shampoo containing Zinc Pyrithione at a concentration of 0.5% for the same period of time, which reduced dandruff by 68.6%.

Dandruff-Guard™ WS affects the viscosity of the shampoo by making it thicker. If a thickener such as SugarThick or ClearClean is added to the formula, it is recommended to reduce the amount of thickener used.

Since Dandruff-Guard™ is effective at killing fungi and other germs (broad-spectrum microbiocide/microbiostat), it can also help to deodorize.

Examples of using Dandruff-Guard™ WS at different levels in different formulations.

Anti-dandruff Shampoo (anti-dandruff shampoo) 2.5-5.0%

Anti-dandruff Tonic (anti-dandruff tonic, spray or apply on the scalp) 0.5-1.0%

Deodorizing soap 1.0-2.5%

For maximum dandruff elimination effectiveness, use Dandruff-Guard™ WS. With Zinc Pyrithione

Thai FDA regulations: For rinse-off products, a maximum of 5.0% may be used. However, for leave-on products such as hair tonics and skin creams, no more than 0.5% may be used.

Usage: For dandruff treatment and prevention, can be used together with Zinc Pyrithione for maximum anti-dandruff effectiveness. 

Mixing method: Disperse in water first and then mix in shampoo formula. It will dissolve in detergent.

Usage rate: 0.1-5.0% (Please refer to FDA regulations above)

Product appearance: white liquid

Dissolving: Disperses directly in water without precipitation.

Storage: Can be stored at room temperature, but close the bottle tightly and keep away from sunlight or heat. The product has a shelf life of at least 3 years.
