Ethyl Ferulate is Ferulic Acid , which is extracted from rice in the form of Ester, can be well dissolved in oil and has antioxidant efficiency like Ferulic Acid.

Ethyl Ferulate is commonly used in sunscreen formulations because it can act as an antioxidant and reduce UV-induced erythema. As a result, it can significantly increase the UVA/UVB values when tested for SPF/PA values using the in-vivo method. From the in-vivo testing, it was found that from the original formulation using 7% OMC, which gave an SPF value of approximately 25, after changing to Ethyl Ferulate at 0.7%, it still gave the same SPF value (SPF 25) but was able to help improve the texture of the formula, not sticky like when using OMC in the formula.

Ferulic Acid is a substance found in the leaves and seeds of many plants. It has properties that help strengthen plant cell walls. The most common sources are grains such as rice, wheat, corn, oats, coffee beans, apples, artichokes, peanuts, oranges, and pineapples. It can also be extracted from wheat bran and corn bran.

Ferulic acid is an effective antioxidant that can prevent free radicals that occur on the skin and free radicals that occur in various vitamins mixed in the formula. It can also prevent the skin damage from UVB light (suitable for mixing in sunscreen formulas. It does not help protect against direct sunlight, but helps prevent the skin damage process from UVB light).

Uses: Used as an anti-oxidant to protect the skin from free radicals or in sunscreen formulations.

Mixing method: Dissolve in oil

Usage rate: 0.1-2% (1% recommended for anti-aging/anti-oxidation in skincare formulations)

Product characteristics: White or light yellow powder.

Storage: For long-term storage, store at room temperature, avoid sunlight, heat, humidity, close the lid tightly, shelf life is at least 2 years.
