Pre-gelled hydrocarbon structurant for clear, glossy anhydrous gels; suspends pigments and adds cushion.
Hydrogenated Poly (C6-14 Olefin) Gel is a pre-gelled hydrocarbon oil structurant designed to create clear, glossy, non-tacky anhydrous gels and to rheology-modify oil phases.
Product Description: Hydrogenated polyolefin gel structured with a styrenic block copolymer (EPS). It builds clear, highly stable oil gels with a rich, cushioned feel and high gloss. Excellent pigment suspension capacity makes it ideal for color cosmetics and lip products.
Key benefits:
- Forms clear, non-tacky anhydrous gels with elegant cushion and slip
- Strong suspension power for pigments, pearls and physical UV filters
- Compatible with common cosmetic oils, esters, hydrocarbons and many silicones
- High oxidative/thermal stability; good clarity across a wide temperature range
- Label-friendly; silicone-alternative sensorials
Applications: Lip gloss and balms, stick balms/ointments, anhydrous serums, hair pomades, tints, scrubs, and as an oil-phase rheology modifier in emulsions.
Usage rate: 5–100% (as a gel base); 3–20% (as a rheology/suspending aid).
How to use:
- Add to the oil phase. Heat 70–85°C with uniform mixing until fully homogeneous, then cool while stirring.
- For cold-process systems, pre-soften under shear and mix until uniform. Adjust final viscosity with compatible oils/esters as needed.
Solubility: Insoluble in water; miscible with cosmetic oils and esters; check silicone compatibility case-by-case.
Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Reseal containers tightly. Shelf life ~24 months when properly stored.
