Bakuchiol-Eco ™ (Natural Retinol)

Cosmetics Code: 9791

Bakuchiol, an extract derived from the seeds of Psoralea corylifolia, is currently confirmed by in-vivo trials to have effects similar to retinol, but with the advantage of being less irritating to the skin.

Bakuchiol-Eco™ is Ultra Purified Bakuchiol with exceptionally high purity (over 99%, averaging 99.5%), resulting in no lingering Babchi scent in the extract. It is ideal for formulations where a Babchi fragrance is undesirable.

Bakuchiol-Eco™ is an extract derived from the seeds of Psoralea corylifolia, also known as Babchi.

Bakuchiol-Eco™ is Ultra Purified Bakuchiol with exceptionally high purity (over 99%, averaging 99.5%), resulting in no lingering Babchi scent in the extract. It is ideal for formulations where a Babchi fragrance is undesirable.

Currently, in-vivo trials confirm that Bakuchiol can act similarly to Retinol , but with the advantage of being less irritating to the skin.

How Bakuchiol Works:

- Modulates retinoid-binding/metabolizing genes (Please check the image in Table I below).

- improve dermal and dermo-epidermal junction genes/proteins

- Stimulates collagen I, III, and IV, encouraging the skin to synthesize collagen 1, 3, and 5.

- Stimulates hyaluronic acid synthase (HAS3) to maintain the skin's hyaluronic acid levels at an optimal level.

- Broad-spectrum radical and non-radical quencher, inhibits lipid peroxidation (can be used in combination with retinaldehyde , where Bakuchiol helps stabilize retinal, making it more stable. It can also help increase the stability of other easily degraded ingredients in a formula, extending their shelf life. For example, it can be added to natural oils to help prolong their shelf life.)

- Reduces sebum production, controls bacterial overpopulation, reduces pro-inflammatory targets, and controls hyperkeratinization. Can be used in combination with salicylic acid to help control clogged pores and acne breakouts.

Warning: The above experimental results used Bakuchiol 0.5% as the single active ingredient, and Dimethyl isosorbide 3%, Pentylene Glycol 3%, and Propylene Glycol 2% as penetration enhancers to help it penetrate the skin.

Mixing instructions: Please read carefully to achieve optimal results:

- Bakuchiol is soluble or dispersible in various oils. When incorporating into a formulation, mix it with the oil phase and stir until well combined, but avoid using heat. If heat is necessary, use it for the shortest possible time and do not exceed 75°C.

- Should be used in conjunction with... Dimethyl isosorbide 2-3 % to help deliver maximum effectiveness.

Bakuchiol has susceptibility issues with metal irons, so a chalating agent such as 0.1% disodium EDTA or phytic acid should be added to help bind any charges present in the formula, ensuring maximum stability for Bakuchiol.

- If the formula contains water, the pH must be adjusted to below 6.5 (ideal range is 3.5-6.5). Do not exceed 6.5, as this can degrade the quality of Bakuchiol.

- The finished product should be packaged in a tightly sealed, opaque, and airtight container. If it is necessary to display the formula in a transparent container, add a UV protection agent, such as Protec™ UV or ActiveProtec™.

Usage: For anti-wrinkle products.

Mixing Instructions: Mix in oil. Do not heat. If the formula requires heat during mixing, add it only in the final step. Please check the mixing instructions above before mixing to ensure optimal performance and stability.

Usage rate: 0.5-1% (1% recommended). Should be used in conjunction with... Dimethyl isosorbide 2-3% to help deliver maximum effectiveness.

Product characteristics: Yellow liquid with a natural odor.

Solubility: Soluble in oil.

Storage: For long-term storage, keep in the refrigerator. Avoid direct sunlight and heat. Seal the lid tightly.
