Hi-LiconeA™ Licorice Extract (Licochalcone A 20%)
Licochalcone A from licorice helps support anti-redness, anti-irritation, sebum-control and acne-prone skin formulas.

Content: Licochalcone A 20%. This powder is not water-soluble; pre-disperse in cosmetic glycol before adding to a formula. If direct water compatibility is required, choose Licochalcone A 1%, Water-Soluble.
Licochalcone A extract from licorice (Licorice Extract) has properties to reduce skin inflammation, reduce redness from acne, reduce irritation, reduce oiliness of the skin, control facial oil, reduce acne. In addition, the ability to control skin oil of Licochalcone A can also be used to reduce hair loss caused by an excessively oily scalp, which is one cause of hair loss.

Usage: Suitable for leave-on acne-prone skin, anti-redness, anti-irritation, sebum-control, oily-scalp and sensitive-skin formulas such as serum, gel, lotion, cream, mask and scalp treatment. This powder must be pre-dispersed in a cosmetic glycol before adding to the formula; do not add the powder directly to water.
Mixing method:
- Pre-disperse the required amount in propylene glycol, butylene glycol, pentylene glycol or another cosmetic glycol. Stir until the powder is fully wetted and the dispersion is visually uniform/clear.
- Add the glycol dispersion into the formula and mix until fully uniform. Keep the final formula pH in the 3.5-6.5 range.
- If direct water compatibility is required, use the water-soluble Licochalcone A 1% format instead of this 20% powder.
Usage rate: 0.1-0.3% of this 20% extract in the finished formula (delivers approximately 0.02-0.06% Licochalcone A). Typical use: 0.1-0.2% for sebum-control, acne-prone, anti-redness and soothing formulas; up to 0.3% for intensive soothing concepts for very irritation-prone skin.

Solubility: Can be dissolved in any type of Glycol. Cannot be dissolved in water. If you want a water-soluble type, choose Licochalcone A 1%, Water-Soluble.
